Today we spoke to our oncologist Dr. McNamara and he told us that the Yale tumor board reviewed Owen's case yesterday. The Board recommended the same MRI that Dr. Kieran mentioned. Therefore, we will be waiting about two or three more weeks to have the intensive MRI. In the meantime, we have postponed the next two appointments that were scheduled with Sloan and Hopkins. We're going to wait to have the next MRI so we can provide them with more information. The next steps will be determined by the results of the MRI. We are very comfortable with this recommenation and feel that it truly makes the most sense.
On Monday (2/2) Owen will have a 5-minute MRI that should show the swelling has decreased and the fluid is flowing again. Following the MRI, he will have his stitches removed when we meet with Dr. Duncan, the neurosurgeon who performed the surgery.
We all rested at my parent's today. It was nice not to be traveling... Owen enjoyed his toys and is finally loving his exersaucer again! In the midst of all this Owen has been teething non-stop... as of today he has 8 teeth! Tomorrow we'll head back to CT to unpack and unwind.
Thank you for your continued prayers. We will be praying that Monday's MRI shows much improvement.

My strong hopes and prayers go to your son and to you both. These are tough times, yet it will get better. I believe Owen is in the best hands -- the wonderful doctors and other medical staff members and God.
