Owen is doing very well this week. He's happy and free of ear infections. Although we thought that he would be going back to day care this week, his pediatrician strongly suggested that we do not send him back to day care since he's had multiple ear infections and has been sick this winter. Eric & I agree that it would be best to keep out of day care at least until his next MRI (2/27) and then we'll evaluate from there.
Since Owen's not going to day care, we have been taking time out to be with him. I stayed home Monday, Eric's mom watched Owen on Tuesday, Eric had him today, and I will be with him tomorrow. On Friday he'll be visiting with his cousins Riley and Dylan and then with his grandparents. I think Owen is loving all of this one-on-one time, as our we... today Eric took Owen to see his teachers and friends at Kindercare and then he came to visit me for lunch. It was so nice to introduce Owen to my colleagues and my friends at CHA.
Tomorrow Owen starts physical and occupational therapy. I think he's regained most of the skills that he lost, but the therapists will be able to evaluate him better and watch his skills over the next few weeks. It's been amazing to watch Owen heal so quickly. Even his incision is healing quickly... it will soon become a faint line covered by his growing hair. We are so blessed that he is having a speedy recovery... surely it's God's hand at work. It's nice to have him back to his "old" self!
